Energy brekky - Lovely acaí bowl
Who havent heard the word ”acaí”? It has become very hyped in the whole blogger/fashion/health industry and for a good reason aswell, because this little berry is filled with goodness! Its rich in antioxidants, low in sugar, rich in fibers and contains the good fat! It is a so-called ”superfood”. Other benefits are anti aging, weightloss, more energy, aminoacids.
In Denmark it is slowly becoming popular, we dont have the frozen acaí but you can find the powder version a lot of places. I actually stocked up, from my local grocery the other day, so thats all good news. In this recipe I´ve used some powders from the brand ”Acaíacaí” they make really interesting blends, just to mention a few of them ”protein heaven” for when you have worked out, ”slim sensation” to boost your metabolism and ”rise & shine” for an amazing morning, filled with antioxidants.
Acaí bowls are so fun, because you can play around with them to find your perfect match, and you can also use a huge variety of different toppings. There is no right or wrong here, so just have fun with it, and use what you have on hand. For this morning version a used ”rise & shine” and for the base I used two frozen bananas, a handful of blueberries, some chunks of pineapple, a teaspoon of peanutbutter and a tinybit of coconutmilk, not too much because you dont want the base to be to fluent. When the mixture is ready, its time to make the bowl. In the bottom I put some granola, I use Lizzys ”Treacle & pecan” granola, then I pure the base on top and finally I use a huge variety of toppings. I had some pomegranate seeds, strawberries, banana, peanutbutter, more granola, chia seeds and cacao nips. Sounds like a lot, but as mentioned earlier you can use whatever you like.
